Headlight Warning Chime

I have a 1997 F-350 7.3PS. When the headlights are pulled on and the drivers door is open, I receive no warning chime. The dome light works with the door actuator, but I receive no warning chime when I leave my headlights on. Fuses are fine. Any suggestions?

There is no GEM on a 97 amigo.

My guess is someone unplugged the dinger box, its under the dash just to the left of the trans tunnel. Plug it back in and I bet it works right. If you don't want the annoying "key in ignition chime" remove the lower plastic cover on the steering column (4-5 screws) and unhook/tape up the funny single wire connector that slides in behind the ignition cylinder. I have pics of this if needed.
