Now i can start modding the truck again

Hopefully i'll be able to find a wrecked truck at JT's in marion, and i can get everything i need in one deal. Tranny, computer, whole clutch pedal assembly, and slave cylinder and such.

So if anyone hears of a ZF6 6 speed tranny for sale, lemme know. It doen't have to be in good shape. If it needs rebuilt that is fine. Best friend's family owns a transmission shop
Hey John,
I know you changed your mind on selling the truck now, but I was gonna tell ya the guy I knew about was looking for a CC. Another friend of mine looked at doing a auto to 6spd swap, and J&T in Marion wanted $1800 plus the old auto, for the Zf and swap parts. That was about a year ago..dunno what he is getting for them now. Be good if you could find one totaled out at a salvage auction somewhere. That way you could get the whole truck pretty cheap ( wouldn't forget any small parts needed for the swap)and sell everything that was left when you finished the swap. Just a thought.

Do they even have a salvage auction anywhere around here?

That would be nice if i could find a whole truck.

$1800 aint too bad for everything included. But i'd rather try and do it for wayyyy less.

I can get the tranny rebuilt for cheap, if i can find one that needs to be rebuilt. I figure that would be the cheapest route.

Question: What year did the suspension change to coil springs on our trucks? That's the same time the wheel back space changed too, right?

More specifically, will the same wheel fit a 2003 as my 2001?

Morning Everyone!

Hank, the change to front coils was in 05...you shouldn't have a problem swapping 01 and 03
