July G2G idea.....

Hey guys. I was thinking. In July, the first saturday after the 4th of july, which will be the 9th of July, Saluda has a Coon Dog day. its a day of small town crafts, family fun, blugrass music and socialization. They have a parade that starts at 11.

I had posted up once before about getting some trucks together and having a CPA section in the parade. I have the go ahead form the committee in Saluda. I would love to see 6-7 trucks(heck maybe more I dont care) in the parade.

My mom lives right smack dab in the middle of town and has a big yard we can park in after wards. I think it could eb a great family g2g. We can hang out afterwards, browse downtown, drinksome cold ones, and have some fun. There is plenty of food there form all kinds of vendors. they usually have a car show of some sort. And they always have a coon treeing contest and AKC dog show in the schoolgrounds, followed by a night hunt if any of you is interested. Dogs are always welcome, so Shilo will feel right at home.

What do you guys think? I think it would be awesome! As long as I have been alive and watching the parades there has never been a diesel club that came down there and even parked their trucks. We could pick up some membership there, as people from all over GA, SC, NC TN and beyond come to this event.

________________________________

And on another note, because Saluda is celebrating 130 years this year, they have wanted to have the businesses do a customer appreciation day of some sort. Tony(the guy whos running moms shop) wants to participate in that. I will post up the dates when I know of them, but he would love it if we had some trucks there to show off. hes getting NGK plugs and some other vendors to show up. hes doing it pretty big. I think hes trying for a diesel vendor to come too. Not sure who he has in mind.

But we could ahve a G2G that day too. 2 more to add to the running total for the contest, and another chance to have a great time.

I have wanted to host a g2g for some time, ever since the one my brother was supposed to let us use the shop fell through. Just wanted your guys input.
