overo that's a great shot of the cold lake, I loved camping in the 51st state before I moved west. I used to live on lake bella vista, I ran Pando for a few years before I moved west. How is Rockford?

Not a big fan of public camprounds, I go camping to get away from people.

Plus I like being able to breakout whatever I want, whenever I want.

I like high desert in winter, forest in summer.

We love to take the 5th wheel to the open camping area in the Kaibab forest just outside of the south rim of the Grand Canyon. It's also the same area we go elk hunting .

Ken....

Hi-Tek,
Installing the second tank is a great idea. Through Canada you'll be able to find fill stations, but it might be nice to have the option to bypass some of the more remote, and expensive, ones. And once in AK, fill stations can be few and far between depending where you're at.
buying a couple of used atv's, or an argo , wouldn't be a bad idea. Or you can rent them too.

And not to discourage your plans for the trip, but Alaska is NOT the place to "wing it". Do a lot of research and plan your trip well. It'll be worth the extra effort when you finish a successful vaccation with no, or few, mishaps. If you got any specific questions feel free to PM me, Id be happy to give you some advice / recomendations.

Oh, and Banshee, here's one more for you ...........

This is Denali, on the right, and Foraker, left. Taken from about 80 miles away
