norcold refridgerator

Anybody have any experience with these units. Used all last year with no problems but not getting cold enough now...fridge is at 55 degrees and freezer is at 45, both electric and gas have same results. Any help would be appreciated.

Pop the cover off and make sure that it is real clean, especially in the burn tube. I've seen where a layer of dirt and grime has caused it not to cool very efficiently.

Do you smell any hints of amonia? You might have a slow leak in your cooling unit. You can replace the cooling unit. It is a fairly large job but will save you close to a thousand dollars.

I replaced my core last summer. It isn't too bad of a job. The biggest part is getting it in and out of your RV. Here is a link to the steps in replacing the core. > Rebuilding Process

Pretty simple really. If you can cut and assemble an a/c plenum then you can do it. I didn't even know what an amonia cooling system was until I pulled mine and replaced it.

Hmmmm. It wouldn't let me acquire the replacing instructions... just the rebuilding process.Seems they want me to buy one before they tell me what it takes. Aceholes.

I think this is the guy I bought mine from and he will email the instructions to you if you request them. eBay Express: Dometic cooling unit RM1300 we have Norcold too!! - Description
Hope this helps.
