New Toyhauler for the PSD!
Hey all!!!
Just got the new toyhauler home last week, finally!!! We've been wanting to get one for a few years now. Finally got sick of the tent and decided it was time. It's a Weekend Warrior LE 3305 (33 feet long) fifth wheel. Has all the standard bells and whistles. We took it to Gorman for our first outing. Our friend's motorcycle club was putting on a desert race last weekend so we went and helped with that, and we also rode the crap out of the ATVs while we were there. hehe I posted a pic of it in my garage. Check it out if you like. Can't wait for the next .ORG meeting at Pismo. Anyone up for August time frame??? First week would be cool, right before the kids go back to school. BTW: The toyhauler fund has overdraft protection that is somehow linked to my truck mods fund. Thats some crap I tell you. hahaha |

I should be back in late July. The truck tows it pretty well. I wasn't able to use my truck when we went to Gorman. I was waiting for the gooseneck adapter to come in, and it got here about an hour before I was planning to leave. I had my friend's D'max dually to use though so it wasn't a problem. His truck did fine with it on the trip. The trailer weights about 9600 unloaded so I figure that I was pulling 13k up the hill when we went. His truck had a manual (electonic) shifting feature that was the bomb when going up the grapevine. It made it really easy to keep engine/tranny temps in check by allowing me to manually select the gear the truck was in, and thus prevent tranny hunting and it also kept the waterpump spinning fast enough to properly cool the engine. Temp in Valencia was 100 degrees when I started the climb so I was really watching the gauges. No worries though. I have pulled it with my truck since then (around town) and it does just fine too. I put my foot into it yesterday when getting on the 101 and I couldn't get EGT to come above 950. Really surprised me. I still have the $$$ set aside for that SCT so I'll be ordering that from you when I get back (Raul). Did you ever figure out whether the SCT would work with the newest ford reflash?.

There are some killer deals out there right now on toy haulers, with gas prices and all. There are a ton of them for sale. All sizes and price ranges. You should be able to get a smaller bumper pull for next to nothing. Not sure I'd get a fifth wheel with the lift you have Raul. I think your on the right track. Check craigslist or rvtrader. Thats were I found mine. Got it for 10-12k less than it's worth.
