axle dust cover question-

Ok I know this is stupid and dosnt reeley matter but Im curious. I just did a total bearing/race replace and packing job on the camper. The bearing kit that I found on amazon ( that was friggin AWESOME by the way)
Bearing Kit for #84 Spindle : Amazon.com : Automotive Bearing Kit for #84 Spindle : Amazon.com : Automotive
If you look at the pic of the product it shows the dust covers, the solid ones and the ones with the rubber plug type insert's. Ive never used the rubber plug type ones. Are the kinda like bearing buddies? Is it just a inspection type plug? Ever use these before??

I have always used the solid dust covers other than on my fourwheeler trailer I put bering buddies. First time I have ever used them and the last after what you guys told me. I believe the covers may actually be bering buddies because mine have a rubber cover over the zerk fitting. Not sure why if they are not bering buddies they would have a rubber cover though.

those are for rear zerk lube applications alzso advertised as torsion bar caps on the site wher you purchased your kit

i use bearing buddies because i have 3 trailers that get submerged and the bearing buddy keeps the air pocket out of the inside and prevents water from being sucked in when a hot bearing meets cool water
