so i have a question, and im not trying to pry. im sure most of you have a mortgage, how can you all afford that and then the truck, then the RV, then the toys too??? i make a very decent wage, and so does my wife. in fact we break 70K a year now and just cant seem to fit any of that stuff into my budget...

I can't speak for any one else, but I built mine over a few years. Most expensive thing for me was rebuilding the detroit diesel. ($9500.00) Ouch. I paid cash for my truck and don't owe anything on the bus. I think most people live beyond their means and bury themselves in debt. Some use equity lines on their homes to buy toys. It alls depends on how much debt your willing to carry. Theres always someone willing to lend you money whether or not you can afford it. My ![]() Dave |

Fortunately I had several good years with my almonds. I was able to pay cash for all my toys. It took 20 years, but I was finally able to make some money farming. We decided to keep our modest home and buy some toys and a lake home. The tides are starting to turn. Growing cost have gone up sustantially over the past three years, and supply is cathing up to demand. It's still good, but not as good as it once was.
