I can't speak for any one else, but I built mine over a few years. Most expensive thing for me was rebuilding the detroit diesel. ($9500.00) Ouch. I paid cash for my truck and don't owe anything on the bus. I think most people live beyond their means and bury themselves in debt. Some use equity lines on their homes to buy toys. It alls depends on how much debt your willing to carry. Theres always someone willing to lend you money whether or not you can afford it. My
Dave

I'll tell you what, for guys like us with kids and a family, its a wonderful way to spend time with them. The kids love camping and its a blast teaching them about the outdoors.

Fortunately I had several good years with my almonds. I was able to pay cash for all my toys. It took 20 years, but I was finally able to make some money farming. We decided to keep our modest home and buy some toys and a lake home. The tides are starting to turn. Growing cost have gone up sustantially over the past three years, and supply is cathing up to demand. It's still good, but not as good as it once was.

Yep, the wife and I decided to keep our current house and add on and remodel instead of spending all our income on a new house. So since we kept the place we already had and it'll be paid for in about 7 more years we were able to buy toys. We've about got to many now but we manage somehow!

Jason, looks like you need some ride rites on the back of your truck judging by the pic...
