Fan-Tastic Fan for $10!!!!
Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you know that I picked up a (used) Fan-Tastic fan from one of the RV shops I frequent for $10. Now I get to cut a hole in my roof to get it installed ahead of our Memorial Day trip to the woods. I have the perfect spot where the manufacturer put a subwoofer in the ceiling. I'll just remove the tiny speaker box that's up there and it's in the PERFECT spot-dead center of the "cargo" area.BTW, they sure are proud of their vent covers, aren't they? $30 for a replacement!!!! ![]() PS. I will add some pics of the install to this thread so that others can see what it takes. |

That's a really good deal! They work great to help keep the air circulating in the camper.

No, I didn't know that. I would assume that doesn't cover the fan cover, though. In any case, it didn't come with a cover, so I would likely be buying one anyway.
Yeah, it's wiring for the subwoofer and goes to the AV cabinet, which has a 12 volt supply. It's probably 14 gauge cabling, so I would imagine it would be adequate for the fan. The fan wiring looks to be 16 or 18 gauge. On another forum, several of my buddies suggested to use a chainsaw!!!

He'll probably just use a spade bit.
Yep. I would assume the vent lid isn't covered, but we've had plenty of trailers we've bought and had to get new blades, motors, and switches for. All free. |

Jarrod, I'm sure whatever I use will be disappointing compared to using a chainsaw.
