Replacement RV Mattress

Any suggestions on replacement RV mattresses? I have a older Jayco, the mattress has never been all that comfortable. And I want to replace it. It's a smaller 5th wheel, and I'm limited to the stock size. And I live in rural Montana, so my shopping is very limited. I can rule out the memory foam that gets hard when cold, we dry camp, and I don't want to sleep on something as hard as the ground. Thanks for any suggestions, Pete

First thing I did when we bought our last 5th wheel was toss out the mattress and buy a decent one from a mattress store. ours is a queen size and a standard queen fits perfectly.

There are only 3 types of mattress that I'm aware of. The memory foam which you've ruled out (latex is similar in my book). The inner spring and the air mattress type (like the sleep number). With you doing dry camping, that may rule out the sleep number style. Lots of inner spring mattress made and there is at least one mattress manufacturer that will custom make one for you. Here's a link to the first one in a google search for "custom mattress"

Try "campingworld.com" ...we just replaced the original one in our camper with an 8" thick queen and I think it's gonna be really nice. Much better than the old one with the memory foam topper that left my *** on the floor every night! They have several sales so if you watch it you may get a pretty good deal.

I just went to the local Sam's Club and bought a new spring mattress. Was cheaper there than any mattress store. Actually sleep better on it than I do in my house bed lol.

That would work, I found this on Sams website. Looks like they have had a price increase since I last looked at them but maybe they have some cheaper in the clubs?
