Slider or stationary with short bed cc???
What is everyones preference as to what I should get? Pros/cons? Buddy with a 2500 ext cab gmc says I don't need one but the dealer where I'm buying 5er says it's a must but it's more than twice the moolah for it. Any suggestions appreciated.!
I drive a big rig tow truck for a living and can maneuver a truck well so that shouldnt be a problem. (a 40ft Peterbuilt 75 ton rotator with a tractor and 53 ft van in tow usually!) Thanks Leon |

I would spring for the slider. A 5er does not take much turning to hit your cab.

What do you think about the "automatic" slider hitch vs the manual version? How does the autoomatic one know when the truck is turning? For some reason the dealer couldnt tell me how but did tell me it was 1100$!!!
Do you typically only need them when setting up the camper in a spot? Thanks! |

I would go for the slider....u might not need it every time, but when u need and dont have one, u will be hating urself....ive got a slider in my truck and it does great....and as for the manual and auto, pretty sure, its based off of how much u turn, after u turn past a certain point, it will unlock and slide back for ya.....
