its a 5th wheel...

the "horseshoe" can be raised or lowered... but it is at the exact height it needs to be... I have just an inch or so extra clearance... just the butt end of the trailer is less than a foot off the ground.............

****,

Sorry to hear that. The only option you have then is the hard one. Axle Flip.

Can be done, Of course along with that is another step to get in.

as for some other info - i've read some info on the net that for the newer body style trucks after 99 that I may need to switch from 4" blocks in the rear to 2" ??? anyone heard of that?

This trailer isn't heavy enough to squat my 250

I flip the all the time at work. The only hard thing that you have to do is weld the perches on the top of the axle instead of the bottom. DONT just flip them. The axle is pre stressed (curve in the middle). Plus if you flip them the brakes will be upside down and wont work well at all. .... and the left and right brake setups have to be on the correct side.....

here are a couple of pics of my bosses.....

Yeah I forgot that about the axels curved. That is right, Will mess everything up if flipped. I just got used to people calling it flipping.

I was actually accused of bending my axel by a local R.V realer when I thought about trading it in.

Well I can see where the back end being less than 12" off the ground would be a problem when in transit. Sounds like you have a good weekend project a head of you!

For reference, a springover on a Jeep and Samurai is about a 4 1/2" lift. Except for the spring perches, it's easy on a slave axle.
You could just let the air outta the rear tires.( Sorry, had to say it)

I towed it and will have pictures of exactly what i'm talking about... as soon as I can get my wife to send them from her mom's camera...

I thought maybe there would be some blocks or something that could make the distance from the axle's to the frame farther kinda like a body lift.... guess i'll run it by the trailer shop and see what they say... maybe I should just sell this one and buy a different trailer! lol

what does everyone think? I have just over the proper amount of clearance at the bed rails... can't lower the hitch anymore! Are there ways to correct this (ie. raise the trailer) and how do you do it?

also, if I take it slow and easy, do you think it will be okay to tow the trailer on a short trip for the weekend?

What is the Proper amount of clearance? Mine actually hit a little the other day when i was making an gradual elevation chance on a gravel road going to a hard top road. i probably have 4" or 5" and my truck is lifted sitting on 33's.
