Anyone Camp on the Beach in Port Aransas, TX area?

Has anyone camped on the beach in or around Port A? Looking for recommendations, tips, whatever. Picking up our travel trailer on Friday morning and heading down there and we still haven't picked where we want to camp.....

You will love it, we have been to 2 different RV sites by the beach ( or as close as you can get) full amenities. We always took the ferry across with our 30' in tow. If you like fresh seafood head over to the pier in the morning and buy direct from the boats. I always filled up before getting to the island ..... Just being careful!

Enjoy!

We ended up staying on the beach itself in Port A (only $12 for a 1 year pass). Had to bring a generator.

We thought about Mustang Island State Park, but the sites with hookups were all reserved and they thought my trailer was too large/heavy to let me on their beach (though we did just fine in Port A).

We came down I37 through Corpus. Good to know we can take a TT on the ferry though.
