I've pulled many goosenecks with another truck in the past, I must say I like pulling a fifth wheel or gooseneck much better than a bumper pull, but my fifth wheel is much easier to hook up than any gooseneck I"ve ever seen. Just back under, slide lock, and go, no trying to get the ball right under the hitch and getting out and raising the jacks way up to get the hitch off the ball. I love my new fifth wheel! And with with my sliding hitch I can really turn it!

I pull a 36ft prowler fifth wheel 15K loaded gooseneck set up. My wood hauling trailers are gooseneck 20ft with 4ft high side boards. Trailer weighs 4500lbs empty. I add 5 cords of cedar and I am pulling around 15,500 lbs to Vegas. Gooseneck works great. Don't even know the load is behind me until I start to climb. Really much easier set up that the standard fifth wheel in the bed hitch. Gooseneck takes up less room and is easy to load.

The gooseneck conversion does not handle as well as the fifth wheel... besides, all that would be in your bed is the flat rails with the pull of four pins the hitch comes out. By handling i mean that the gooseneck transfers more bucking to the truck than the fifthwheel... plus it puts less stress on the trailer side pin..... The way the trailer is set up is always the best way to go is the way I look at it
