2002 F350 Radio Problems

My radio has crapped out. It is not the radios fault, my twin 4year old boys have done it in. it is smoking if you try and play a tape and the CD player has a few of my credit cards stuck in it. I wan't to change it out with a new Sirrius capable unit. Does anyone make a unit to replace the factory unit? How do you get the old unit out? Does it require any special tools? any help or leads to other sites will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Most audio shops have the tool to get it out for sale for about 5 bucks there are two little metal things that go in the little holes in the side of your radio the tool slip in till they click and you can pull the radio right out.

A metal coathanger can work most of the time too

I hate that!! If you decide that you want to put a stock unit back in, let me know. I have the one out of my 02 in my closet. CD player on it too. Took it out to put in Pioneer unit.

My boy's did the same thing to mine. When I removed it, I found two dollars in change floating in there. I guess they thought it was Juke Box.

At least now I don't feel to alone..

I went into Circuit City three years ago, They put a sub new speakers all around, and a removable face Pioneer for under five hundred, with a warrenty, the sub popped and they dropped a new one in (I didn't have reciept, but they looked it up). I am happy, it also came with a thin remote, I should have got something that had a digital port. I found a thing at Radio Shhck that takes the audio output from a laptop and transmitts to the FM on the stereo, nice playing a DVD on the laptop and playing the sound through the stereo.
