Rockwood Ultralight 5er

Well, it looks like I may be taking the plunge on a 5er sooner than I wanted to. The wife has been revved up about getting one all spring/summer so we went out looking. Today I found a nice 2005 Rockwood Ultralight 8283SS. She's a beauty with every option you can get on them. It also only weighs in at less than 7K.

I can get this one for around $19,000 on the road and out the door. How does this sound to you guys? Also what kind of reputation does Rockwood have as far as durability?

I will be calling the dealer on Monday to give him my answer. Until then I would appreciate any comments.

Thanks!

For what it's worth, I just got an '04 Jazz by Thor, 27.5 aluminum frame BH for 14K.

As long as it is still structually sound, I would buy it. That a light trailer, too.

As for durability, As long as you care for it, it should be good.

I try to never take mine too far off the beat'n path. The rough roads vibrates everything apart.

That unit is identical to the one we are looking at. Unfortunately, it's on the west coast and we're on the east coast. It would be a once in a lifetime experience, but I can't see myself taking two weeks to drive out to CA to pick up a camper!
