Hitch

Hey guys i know this is a really dumb question but i just want to make sure before i start ordering stuff for it. Really good friends of my parents just sold there fifth wheel and they guy that bought it didnt need the hitch so he left it behind. the hitch is basicly brand new it only pulled the trailer twice and has been siting under the trailer ever since. they offered me the hitch in exchange for plowing there driveway for the winter. so here is my question it is a reese 16 k slider and he had it in a 2007 ford f150. i know the rails arnt gonna be the same and already have ones picked out i just need to order them. i was wondering if there is any reason why this hitch wouldnt work in the back of my 350 short bed are they all universal and you just have to buy new rails.
thanks, Jack

As long as they make the rail kit for yours, it should fit right up with no problems. They are a univeral hitch other than the rails.

That will work fine. It's the same hitch I had in my '08 350 shorty.

If you can find out which part # the rail kit is, you may be able to get by with just THIS BRACKET KIT

If you are talking about the pieces of steel ( slightly u-shaped ) that sit crossways between the wheel wells then they are probably the same thing that you want in the F-350. Unless of course the owner kept those! The mounting kit that attaches these rails to the frame is the difference in most cases. You can get two types. One is the conventional style where you must drill the frame, the other is the "no drill". Don't be mislead by that, just means you won't have to drill your frame. The bed still has to be drilled to attach these brackets to the bed rails.
