Alaska/Canadian Highway
Anyone on here know of any good camping areas along the ALCAN highway? We are getting ready to move to Delaware from Alaska and we are driving all the way down. Be great to get some good places to stop.

Kevin we did the trip 5 years ago with a 30 ft camper in tow when I retired, no plans just drove till we got tired of driving, found a camp ground and stayed, some were nicer than others. Get a mile post all the info you need will be in there, carry an extra air filter with you. I had to buy one on the way (whitehourse) and it was pricey.

Milepost is your friend on the ALCAN. There are plenty of places to stop along the way.

What's up Outlaw? We still need to get some folks together sometime while I"m still here. Have you driven the ALCAN? I have the Milepost but it seems like there are very few campgrounds in there. I'm just checking to see if anyone has some good places to stop that might not be actual campgrounds.

I've been up, and down the ALCAN a few times
.First time was back when it was still mostly gravel, in the winter (january), in a 70 something reg cab ford 250 custom (I think the heater was going out too, I remember having blankets over our legs) Haha, good times. I don't know any specific places to stop, we just pull over whenever we get tired. I still suggest a milepost though, TONS of info in em'.When are you planning on driving out? |

We're driving out on 3 May. We have to be in MN by the 9th so we want to get a good start so we don't have to hurry and drive long hours. Are there a lot of us up here with the powerstroke? I only know of a hand full. I'm sure you know a lot more people here then I do...

Most of my buds drive cummins. I work with two guys who have strokes, they're both from out of state though, MT and bayou-ville somewhere.
Seems like most guys my age around here drive dodge's ![]() I'm def down for a GTG though. Even something simple with just a few folks. |

Well there's a good provincial park in the Okanagan, down by Peachland if you're taking the 97 south.

My wife and I are getting ready to drive up to alaska this summer. I have made that drive before and totally recommend stopping atleast for a day in Kluane Lake, and Jasper National Park. Of course that depends on what course your taking. To bad your leaving in may because in june the Gulkana river has awesome King fishing.
