Camping Laws and Locations
Hey all, I am looking to find out if anyone has any info on the camping laws in Alabama. Specifically for "primitive" camping. As in, pick a spot in the middle of nowhere and pitch a tent, etc. I know in Michigan you had to get a free permit from the DNR and attach it to a tree and couldn't be in one location for more than 15 days. Here in Florida where I am at they have designated "primitive" sites and you are SUPPOSED to camp anywhere else except campgrounds. (I think campgrounds are great for some things, but when I go camping I don't want to see any other people. I like to get away)
Also, does anyone have any good places to go in southern Alabama? If so, would you mind giving a few decent ones away to a fellow .org member? Feel free to PM it to me if you don't want it public and I promise to leave it as I found it minus whatever dead wood laying around I can find for a fire. Thanks in advance.
