Anyone that has done a Cummins swap in Cali?

I am in the process of trying to get a Cummins swap rolling. I have talked with the BAR and CARB trying to get info about the swap. I am trying to find someone in Cali that actually

A) Has done the swap or know someone that has and can put me in contact with them

or

B) Knows of a shop somewhere in Cali that actually does these swaps

I don't want to spend all of that money to do it and then be screwed by the local Smog referee.

I found a 35k mile 07 CR 5.9 that is still complete inside of the truck. It is a little steep but basically I can pick up the whole truck with tranny for 10k or just the complete motor,ecu,wiring,exhaust, and all emissions stuff etc for 8.5k. I know I can find one a little cheaper but with this low of miles it is hard to beat. I might be able to talk him down a little but the guy said that he has alot tied up in it.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

Did you end up doing the swap? I've been contemplating on doing it for a while.

I haven't yet just because of funding reasons..my transmission just went out for the second time in a month and a half. I think I am going to throw a built 4r100 from John Woods behind it for now and that will be what I use when I do the cummins swap. Right now I am just trying to figure out what I want to do transmission wise since I am out of commission.

I believe Jefferson State Diesel in Redding can do the swap. I got a buddy with a 04 psd and he's having them do it for him.

Well after popping my gaskets for the second time now(with ARP's even), the swap is on. Whether or not it is going to get smogged or not, that is a different story. These guys are being ridiculous and basically making it impossible for me to do. It is getting done now regardless. I already spent all the money buying a cummins motor.

Thanks for the info Fox. I will call them up and see what they say they are doing for smog purposes.
