Question for my fellow buckeyes...

OK so yesterday.. i did my first oil change since aquiring my truck. Replaced old oil with the standard rotella 15w40 and motorcraft filter...

Within 5 miles of the oil change i noticed my truck had what felt like a slight miss, or studder if that makes any sense... it has never ever done this until AFTER the oil change... my questions are.. do you think the oil change could have caused this or is it a fluke. the studder is only sometimes at idle and when im driving its when im cruisin at like 1/4 throttle.. when i go to WOT it still runs like a top.. and it only does it sometimes.. its not a constant studder or miss

the only mods i have on the truck performance wise is a bully dog power pup and custom exhaust from cat back..... Truck has 96000 miles...where should i look first for the prob.. egr? fuel filter?... im at a loss as to why it didnt do this until i changed the oil... any and all help here will be greatly appreciated...

I have no idea for ya. But I don't think it is oil related. I would get it into a dealer for warranty before you run out. Sorry I couldn't help.

Motor has a 100k warranty. I have used rotella for the two oil changes since I bought the truck know problems (YET). Looking at othe oil though. There is a good discussion in the 6.0 about which oils to use. Lots of opinions out there. I have no idea on oil choice though.

rotella is a perfectly good oil to use, as long as it's certified for use in the PSD. Used rotella for years, never had a problem with it. i highly suggest using motorcraft oil and filters, they were designed for your truck, and thats what i use now.

you got it... it'll be in my sig asap.

Anyway, I have the 7.3, but I use Rotella and have had no prob. either. I would say check with Nourse on the warranty.
