Diesel shops near Dayton?

I have a set of injectors that i want to have pop tested and checked before i put them in. One is torn down, but i think my brother knows a guy that can put it together. So whats the best place around here to have work on them? I would send them out but i don't want to have to mess with shipping, and i'd just like to find some good shops around here.

Diesel Injection Service in Cincinnati or Dave's Diesel in Muncie are the closest place to have you injectors pop tested. what injectors are they ?

I believe they are stage 1's. They are supposed to have machined plungers and barrels, with stock nozzles. But i don't have anything to compare them to, although one is apart and the plunger appears to have been machined. They were pulled from a 7.3 with a blown headgasket.

are they IDI or Powerstroke injectors ?

if they are Powerstroke injectors there is no just pop testing them, you have to put them in a test bench and put them through a set of test with different RPM's and IPR settings.

You will also want to call who ever you are having do it and get a price and see how soon they can do it as the test for 8 injectors runs a couple of hours.

Oh, ok. They are Powerstroke injectors. One of my brothers friends said it would just be pop testing. But i couldn't figure out how it would test all the electronic parts of it. Do you have any idea what the price might be? Like $10 or $20 per injector? I'll have my brother talk to the mechanic at his work because he is a very good Powerstroke tech. We are trying to find out if he will assemble the one thats apart for me, and find out what he thinks I should do.

I would guess about $40 an injector. I thought your brother worked for a plumbing company ?

He used to work for our dads irrigation company, but he sold it. Now he works for a landscaping company and their mechanic is a very good Ford technician. I might just have the injector put together, and sell them. I have a feeling my tranny is going out and i don't want to put any more power through it. I might just put that money towards either a new tranny or a new truck.
