OBS 7.3 reserve tank leaking!

I filled up my reserve tank to use while I take the time to replace the filler neck on the main tank to only find out its got a nice steady drip on the bottom of the tank! I have a bucket underneath it right now collecting the fuel and a patch plug too but I need a way to somehow get the fuel into the main tank which is only running on a quarter tank. The guy at AutoZone said with the older F150's when the main tank was full, the reserve would drain right into the main tank? Is this true? What do I do? I just put $50 worth of diesel in that tank too.

I wouldnt believe what that guy told you,if the reserve tank drained into the main tank what would be the sence of having a reserve tank that would be empty when you needed it,does your truck have a fuel tank selector switch on the dash, and also I dont think there are any f150 diesels out there, there all f250 and 350,good luck my rear tank sprung a leak and after looking at how hard it would be to replace Im putting off on changing it until I really have to
