How long ago did you put the Rust Bullet on? it looks like POR in the setup and
prep. I've seen the TSB for rusty oil pans here and there. Living in the rust
belt is something else, I hear in Ohio they use cinders with a high sulphur content
as if salt wasn't bad enough. Here they mix salt with calcium chloride to speed
up the rusting.

Congrats for getting out of So Cal!!! I left the Republic of Kalifornia 11 years ago and have nver been happier!! Por15 or one I like even better is KBS coatings are the only products I would truly trust to stop and seal the rust. I am restoring a 77 CJ5 and it will be as close to rust proof when we get done as possible. I am using the KBS, a little goes a long way. A 1/2 gal would treat everything underneath, however you have to do the proper prep work. Undercoatings usually only work on a new vehicle, otherwise you trap this junk and as already said it will just rust faster. You can cut corners and cost, or do it right the first time and know you are protected. PM me with any ?

Yeah, rust is the scary stuff! Awesome engines but cut down sheet metal weight by a few hundred pounds and presto, rust-o-matic.

My 99 is a Californey truck, no rust yet but will do the linseed oil again, I'm doing both trailers underneath and prolly both trucks. I found my pop had one of those heavy duty airless sprayers! woo, screw running the compressor.

sucker is FAST! will tweak the nozzle to make a slightly narrower pattern or just get a skinny one, put on the cheap raincoat and respirator and go to town!

I painted the frame, suspension, axles, everything under there!
Reviving an old thread but want an update. How did it hold up/ Any current pictures?

im from Sudbury Ontario , way up north lol, pur 15 is your best bet for paint because its designed to stick to rust/bare metal and is tough as nails, line xing your underbody would take alot of work as the whole underbody would have to be masked, well everything you dont want coated as well as the body of the truck and that stuff goes everywhere. As for undercoating up here we use a product called Krown or Rust check wich would be like spraying your whole truck with wd-40, it sounds messy but it works , it stps everything from seazing, lubes all of your cables and wirring, the other benefit is that the inside of your doors gets s[rayed wich lubes everything inside.
