BED BOLT REPLACEMENT

I noticed yesterday that I had a loose bed bolt (front left if looking from the rear of the truck). Today I bought the torx bit and tried to tighten it.. The bolt seems to thread but never gets tight and ends up spinning. I understand that there is some sort of a welded nut/clip assembly below? The problem is that the fuel tank is sitting over the area that I want to look at, so I have no idea how to get a new nut in there.

Any ideas?

Ford uses nut plates as you said. It won't hurt anything to drive it with one loose one, but you should get it fixed.
