Replacing the bed
Hello
I have a 2001 Ford F-250 super cab (4 door) with a long bed. The bed is really beat up inside, the tailgate has a bow in it and the drivers side fender looks as if a wheel came off. In Colorado Springs, we have a company that puts flatbeds on pickups and then resales the original box, tailgate and bumper. I can get this for $700 total. The new box comes off of at 2010 Ford F-250 SuperDuty (stamped into the tailgate). The company tells me the 2010 bed will be a straight bolt on to my 2001 - and the only think I will have to do is some wiring work for the tail lights. Does this sound right? Thanks! |

The bed parts sound right - I've heard guy who have added the '08 tail lights have said the wiring is a bit different. IIRC, you can get the wiring thingys from Ford. Don't know the $$.
Hopefully, some one who had done that will chime in. |

What is the name of the company? |

ya $700 with the tailgate is freakin good. Apparently the 2011s have different beds, like the mounting location is different. Found that out when I was looking for one myself. 99-2010 should fit. $700 is what I would call a steal.

Amen to that. Last 6.5' bed I found was going for almost 2K.... and they are rare as unicorns (in good condition) in these parts.

Short Bed vs Long Bed
Hello
I was told when I purchased the long bed for $700, that if I was looking for a short bed it would be about $1,500 due to demand. Go figure. |
