No Reverse Lights

Well I pulled my tail lights and then put them back in, after i got done i had no back up lights. I checked the bulbs and they are good, also the fuse is good as well. Anyone know if there is a common problem with these? Anyone got any ideas where to start. Truck is an 03 7.3l with an auto. TIA Any help would be great because I can't see crap at night.

usually the switch for reverse is on the transmission. First check for power and ground at the pigtail (where the bulb goes)

I was thinking the switch on the trans, but I wasn't sure if there was a relay of control module it might go through first. I was gonna check the sockets tomorrow in the day light. I used to working on my vw, so I just assume the most complicated, over engineered thing possible
