mission accomplished! I succeded in swaping out the links. with the 01, you do have jack the truck up & let the front suspension hang. this takes the pressure off, and the bolts come out w/o a hitch. I was trying to take them off w/the tires just touching the ground and that was forcing the sway bar up, thereby making the bolt torque upwards and putting to much strain on the bolt.
anyway, soon as I got the tires off the ground, I unfastened the bottom bolt & it just hung freely. used an impact as ford must've put thread lock on them. took a couple of hours monkeying around w/different size bolts. Thanks for the help. this should quiet down the rattling I've been hearing. |
