The whole titration process removes one molecule from the 3 molecule structure of the vegi. This is the glycerin and that is what makes it thick. removing the glycerin makes it more viscous to flow like diesel fuel would and atomize correctly through the injectors.
With WVO straight, you heat it to 160*F to reach the same goal of similar viscosity as that of diesel so you can inject it...otehrwise it would be like trying to spray a stick of butter through a windex bottle.
It will burn just fine either way, the glycerin you get from bio is quite burnable.

The first diesel engine was invented to run on peanut oil that was not transertified into bio, it was straight oil.

Ahhh I see, and yes I was aware that glycerin was burnable. I was reading our Chem E's report and glycerin is found in bio diesel, soap and Dynamite .

I'm still new to this sorta....i have 13k miles running vegi oil and my truck digs it!
Jason Crawford - who owns Vegistroke DFA has logged over 100k miles on the same engine with vegi and no issues.

Oh I have no doubts, I mean I interned at Detroit Diesel and we tested these setups to see what the effects where. I was just curious as to what the general public view was. Plus i'm in a senior design group and were building an automated bio-diesel reactor. Not because it was the best choice but come summer time were gettin a large grant to make a massive commerical processor to power busses. The whole waste vegi thing was just interesting for me.

Well I'm sorta a novice. I don;t know awhole alot of the chemical differances between the two( i do now though). I'm not a chemical engineer, i'm mechanical, so I spent my days looking at blocks and injectors. As I said I was curious as to how the whole wvo system worked, but i never once made the connection with the glyacol and its chemical properties. We ran engines on pure oil and heated them up like how thw WVO system works but I only got into that side of things very late in my career there. To further that I never really did get into the whole R/D side of that, as to how the engine reacted, but after a few weeks of running non-stop there wasn't any mechanical damage to any major compoentents.

Indeed I'll keep you guys posted with the whole reactor, I'll take some pictures and what not. I have some extensive testing that I must do. I gotta test a few different models of vehicles(trucks mostsly) to ensure some sort of consistant reading with using bio-diesel. Plus then i can see which truck I want to buy
