oil changes when running VO

How many miles are you guys going between oil changes?

Edit: When running Veggie Oil as a fuel. O and what the heck, lets throw BIO in there too. what % of Bio and how often do you change?

oil change

I know, you change the oil at 3K miles when running a good synthetic oil and burning bio. 3K helps with the sludging in the oil. let us know if you get your oil tested, I'd like to see the flash point on a diesel burning just oil.

I did my last oilchange at 3200 miles burning 50% bio the whole time and sent it to blackstone and they said all was good and the numbers were just about the same as my last report that was not running bio at all.

I am not burning VO yet, but getting closer and closer each day!

where is clay at? and the other VO guys?!?

i do mine at 4k, i plan on getting an analysis on my next change. visually, the oil looks the same, i know that isnt saying much, but i have heard sometimes it visually looks more slugish.

From what I understand (and have seen some pictures) if you have a ton of VO in there it looks pretty thick and sludgie and nasty. but that is a ton of vo.

I dont mind 3k changes. that is about what I do now.

depends on how im drivin and how long between changes its been. when Im pulling a lot, about 3000-3500 but if I am just doing alot of hwy driving back and forth from tx to ga. I'll let it go 4500-5000.

Oil changes

I change the oil in my truck every 2500 miles no matter what fuel I use. I have 215,000 miles and it is still running strong.
