need help with oil/bio tank options

hello guys, i just got a vegiestroke system and im about to have it installed..

What i need is some direction as to what tank material to use, Im thinking about using biodiesel from time to time (once a year or so) as a 'cleaning' fuel..

From norther tools:
steel: not DOT approved?
alum: DOT Approved?

stainless is my choice but dont have too many options (none yet in fact) avaialble

im looking at the L shape tanks so i can mount my tool box as well

thanks guys

Steel is not reccomended. Steel is one metal that reacts with vegi oil and will grow a "film" that resembles "fruit roll ups" inside the tank on the walls, heat exchanger and fuel level sender.
Test have been done that shows steel is the only tank that will do this, stainless and aluminum will not. Look in my garage to see a pic of mine that I bought from Northern Tool.

Don't be concerned about DOT approval for a vegi oil tank. DOT approved tanks are for "fuel tanks"...your carrying a vegitable oil as a fuel that you have not paid any road tax on so DOT approval on your tank is the least of your worries. Are you a commercial hauler? Does DOT check your rig on occasion? If so, you might want to get there tax form to pay your estimated road tax on that vegi oil...otherwise, keep it on the down low.
Good luck, let us know how it works out!

I have a Excursion 45 gal tank that will bolt right up to the rear of the truck. You'll have to sacrifice your spare tire and put it in the bed. Total low profile, no one will know it's there. Kit is well designed and requires that you drill only two .500 holes to mount the tank. Just finished this setup for my truck.
