Start!!!

I am starting collection of WVO for my Bio-Diesel. I wondering what is the best method of collecting, and what restaurants I should shoot for? We have MCD,Jack in the box, ma and pa burger joints,Mexican*10, Chinese*3,burrito joint, burger king, ect. I would like you to rate the restaurants in top five as well as the suggestions for collection method. I am talking about what type of grease is best as far as what has been cooked in it.

most of the fast food joints kill their oil, IE lots of fatty acid= lots of lye

I get most of my wvo from local high schools 100% canola , old folks homes and hospitals. I have a few chinese places that have pretty good oil. most mexican places here use hydrodgenized oil which sucks for making cool weather bio. the cleaner you can filter the oil prior to processing the better results you'll get with less catlyst

Try places with cafeterias like hospitals and schools. Good source for oil. One school supplies all the oil I can use and then some.

any oil you can get! do a titrate when you are there just to make sure you are not picking up some nasty slime! PHO sucks for cold weather but works well in the summer.

Where in texas are you?

For the fast food places you will probably have to get with the owner. Mom and Pop places are probably going to be the easiest to deal with. I run PHO year round with no problems. It can be a pain in the a$$ to deal with when cold but not that bad.
