maybe off subject a touch, Algae in diesel

working on an 04 6.0
opened it up to do studs and all updates.
found the fuel pressure check valve (brass piece) totally black and sticky with algae.
have you guys ran across algae issues in bio fuels?
if so how did you correct the issue?

thanks

100% sure its algae? algae isn't sticky so it could be 10 years of grime.

B20 might be the solution, not necessaril the problem.

That or try some power service in the silver jug (diesel clean)
