svo and 4x4?

so im gunna do svo and my friend has it and he has one of the heaters and the filter and i believe the pump all right on the frame rail. will i like playing in the mud and i was wongering if i can have all that stuff in the bed of my truck right next to my tank or do i need it down there so the oil stays hot?
