METHANOL & My Irritation

Diesel and Gas prices are going down. Why is the cost of methanol not going down. I'm starting to get irritated making bio diesel even though I can make it for $1.60 a gallon, I'm thinking about saling my processor and all of my oil hookups. What do you have to say about it? Can you talk me out of aking any durastic mistakes fro flustration?

I buy my methanol from a biodiesel solutions dealer here local for 195.00 for 55 gallons that's as cheap as I've found it. these dealers are nationwide maybe there's a dealer near you.

the best that I've found is about 10% by volume of petro diesel as an anti gel

take a few jars of your bio and blend it in 10% increments and put them in the fridge. keep an eye on them and see when they start to gel. this will let you know what blend will work for you. in tex, you should not see much colder then the fridge. I would also run this test in the freezer too just so you know how much to blend at what temps. I am running 50/50 just because I am too scared to run 100%

I say go for it dude! Sell your stuff, people like me welcome that move. Seriously, if making the fuel at $1.60 a gallon kills you so much then wait ill your back at being at mercy of the pump again. Sure diesel fuel is down but 1.60 is roughly a third of the price these days. By all means if you are going to throw in the towel, sell your equipment and give your oil hook ups to another brewer.

If you are truly committed I say stick with it, oil prices will never be down for good.
