I am trying to titrate my oil and before i put any water/lye mix in it is at the PH i need any advice.

Water/lye????? Never heard of that combo before. Maybe methanol and lye mixture to make methoxide. Also, your titration is to be done before mixing methoxide. Then you know how much lye to put in your methanol.

Water/lye when you are titrating. The direction i have tell you to mix distilled water and lye to mix with the oil and alcohol to get your ph.

i use a sodium hydroxide solution and phenylthalein to titrate my oil. is it the NaOh solution you are talking about?

i'll check my percentages on the NaOH solution when i go into the shop tonight.

hey lsu, i am in lafayette; go tigers! good luck with the biodiesel fuel. i chose to go straight veggie oil and love it this far.
