Now that you reprocessed, you will probably have lots of left over lye in there and you will need to wash it more then usual (at least thats what happened to me)

I have REALLY soft water so my washes are a pain... I am going to try the 5% prewash on my next batch as soon as I get one of the 2 wash tanks cleaned up and into the truck. the 5% pre wash seems to work for a bunch of people, so ill give it a shot too.

WooHoo! Passed 27/3 with super clarity!! put 4 inches of water in bottom of wash tank and pumped the oil up thru it slowly for the first wash, and its settling out now. No problems so far. Hope to put it in my truck tomorrow!! Plan on doing 2 washes this evening and maybe have to do 1 tomorrow. Then I will pump it against the side of the tank with a fan on it for most of the day tomorrow. By the way, how do you know when dry is dry enuff?? Im drawing a blank on that one right now.

You biodiesel should be much ligher in color now that you have washed it. Length of drying time will be be determined by total clarity of the fuel and color change. I have some pictures i'll post, if i can find them. You can see the biodiesel(when made form pure soybean oil that is naturally yellow) goes from a light yellow to a clear "darker" yellow. You should beable to put a sample into a glass jar and see right though it.

1 day to process and 1 day to wash?!? Either you are doing something really right and I am doing something really wrong, or you are rushing it too much. Usually I have to wash my bio 5 or 10 times to get clear water and clean bio. One thing to remember here, DO NOT RUSH!! take your time! soap in your bio will not be fun and you will kill those injectors...

Thanks for the replys fellas. Well, after initial wash throught the water, I drained and good lord the soap!! LOL!! I misted twice(4 hours each with 2 hours settling), and was still draining soap, just not as much. I am now able to bubble wash without any white coming up, so I turned the bubblers up and gonna run them the rest of the night. Water on bottom is clear. Will turn of bubbles in the morning and let settle an hour or so and drain. If water is clear, am I done? What if there is still a soap layer above the water? Anyway, here are a few pics of the Appleseed at work-

Dirty barrell filter.(first place my oil goes and gets dewatered)

Titration Station all cleaned up and drying

Wash Tank is Bubbling and methoxide is going in the water heater for to react the next batch
