First of all....why dont you leave the whole quote he made?.....u totally twisted the point he was making. That is just an ignorant statement if you supporting burning plastic in a burn pile.

I think the theory of man causing global warming is just a hoax.....but even that said, why the hell add terrible chemicals to the air by burning plastic when a trip to the recycling center will get the plastic taken care of without exposing yourself and others to those chemicals. I dont think we need to be near as carefull environmentally as a lot of people, but why would you want to "add fuel to the fire" and put those nasty chemicals in the air just because your too lazy to go to a recycling center. Some people JUST DONT GET IT.

In defense of h2odrx...the last three words of the poster was: "Honestly, enjoy cancer." ,WAS an unnecessary "cheap shot"
(Not a great way to make friends and influence people during a first post)

Well without the complete picture none of you can state which is more harmful, burning them or taking them to a recycling center. In a vast part of this country the closes "recycling center" may be 100's of miles away. You'll produce a lot more "terrible chemicals to the air" driving than just burning them off.

I'd be willing to bet you could go to any chemical plant in the US and get more terrible chemicals being released in the air in one day than a dozen greasers burning their cubies for a life time.

This amounts to blaming flooding on someone because they pee'd in the river.

Thats another rediculous statement. The way this country is now damn near every decent sized town has at least a drop off box for recycling. If you live in a town or area that doesnt have one.....odds are you have to drive to a town that does just to be able to get groceries, etc. I was born and raised in montana....i know all about spread out areas and there is virtually nobody in that state that doesnt live in a town with access to at least a recycling drop off box or that doesnt have to go to one of those towns for at least their houshold supplies.

IC....so that makes it right? I can go to any tar factory and probably find 100 times more oil thats been spilled on the ground than i could ever go through in a lifetime.....i suppose that makes it ok for me to just poor my oil out on the dirt by my house too?

HAHA....funny guy but if everyone pees in the river it just might flood....and if its ok for one guy to do it...why cant everyone else

I love how some people rationalize things in rediculous ways rather than just do whats right. I think evironmentalists take things WAY too far....but then idiots doing stupid things and rationalizing them in ways that just dont make sence have to ruin it for all of us. Think about this....if we take care of the environment in a reasonable way (dispose of your oil properly, dont burn dangerous things, dont litter, recycle) your grandkids and thier grandkids just might have a place they can enjoy the way you did as a kid too........OHHH...but i forgot...its ok for one or two guys to do things that would ruin that becuase they might have to store a little plastic jug or two for a couple weeks till the next time they go to town

That is why I cut up the quote, When I read it it floored me. IFI were to burn some cubbies it would not amount to much.

I honestly can say no one is purely burning veggie oil/biodiesel, running wood furnaces in the winter, generating electricity from micro turbines, or using solar water heaters all in the name of the environment. Energy independence, economical reasons, and an overall better running engine are just some of the other reasons we burn biodiesel or waste veggie oil in diesel engines. You don't have to be a tree hugger to care about the air we breath, the soil we grow crops in, or the water we drink. Keep adding plastic to the fire, see if I care. By the way, can I have your address so I can poor my used motor oil in your water?! I mean have some sense. Educate yourself sir or madam on the effects of burnt plastic. The "not in the my backyard" mentally is tired and old. Keep it in the 20th century where it belongs.

While you may not be a major petrol chemical corporation, every little bit helps. Here is an analogy for ya. I bet your change jar adds up over time. After all, those pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters help that 27K a year income when you need a little extra fuel, food, or in need of paying a bill. Well the chemicals emitted into the air, one carboy burned at a time, adds up to the amount of chemicals we all breath, eat, and drink. Enlighten your consciousness.

Switch out the old ones for new ones with the people you collect the WVO. Make use of what you already have while trying to cut down on excess waste. Do it, don't do it. Just don't brag about how you burning plastic and except to not get sh*t for it.

One more thing, you want to insult someone... anyone. have sense and at least use their name? Who is irk?!

Erik

Well if that was pointed at me maybe you should go back and read my post again. Did you see me saying anything about what was right or wrong? Try reading the first 14 words. Very bad assumption on your part that I was rationalizing anything "instead" of doing whats right.

BTW, nice rationalizing on your part that there's a recycling center on every corner. Did you say everyone lives near one or virtually everyone? I'd think if virtually everyone lives by one then there just might be a few who don't? maybe?

BTW, I pee'd in the river today.
