If they could get to where it was $3.00 at the pump, I wouldn't mind it. Atleast the money would be staying over here and not going over seas.

I would not want a politician driving anything inso far as scientific development is concerned !!!!!
I t would be very worthwhile if the trend of using coal for more and more things continues,as it lessens demand for diesel. There are many ships burning diesel that really should be using coal powered turbines for instance. There are many factories and large buildings using heating oil that perhaps should be using coal. The usa is estimated to have 200 years of coal reserves.
Another worthwhile and abundant energy source is methyl hydrate....this I expect to be the "portable energy" of the future. "mining" methods need to be developed tho...
The last thing this country needs is politicians determining how to do things energy wise.

The news the other day referred to the US as the Saudi Arabia of coal.

to summarize who wants what in the world:
the enviornmentalists want us to huddle in the cold,
the oil companies want new drilling areas,
the overseas oil suppliers want more money.
The us consumers are tired of the extortion at the pump but are not organised into any special interest group.
If the flow of all dollars out of the country stops for a month...the trend will reverse?????
