I work for a fairly large organization as the director of their power plant. We have several pieces of diesel powered equipment, as do some of our other departments. Ours include a couple of 2MW diesel backup generators (CAT and Detroit), trucks, lifts, heaters, etc. Our ag department decided to start making bio about a year ago, using Springboard equipment. They grow their own cottonseed and walnuts instead of purchasing crops, which reduces the overall cost by a good margin. We're up to producing about 500 gallons per day of this stuff and so far all of our equip is running great. Some of the engines are burning blends, but most of them are running B100. Anyway, I ran out to the shop today to fill up my (new to me) F250 for the first time (we have taxed/dyed fuel for the trucks) and grabbed some pics for the forum. Hope you enjoy.

Very impressive press and processor.

Its amazing what a BioPro 380 and drywash can produce per day.

Pretty slick methanol recovery set up too.

What are they doing with the seed cake? Is it top dressing for cattle?

How about the demethed glycerine? I understand it makes a good cattle lick...

Thanks guys. The seed cake is sold for cattle feed yes. So far we haven't done much with the glycerine byproduct, but one of our guys is experimenting with it for some homemade soap recently.

Thanks dude, so far I'm running a B60 blend, but once I get my own tank at my plant, I'll be running B100.

I read somewhere that a process has been developed to make ethanol from gylcerine. Sorry cannot remember the process or where I read about it.

That would be really cool.
For now, all the glycerol I genterate is keeping the shop warm.
