Where to start

Ok like the title says I am wanting to know some facts. What is the biodiesel of choise for 6.0's? Ned some info on how to build a system for my house to make. What do I need to do to my truck? Most important is how much are people making biodiesel for to make it worth the conversions?

Thanks in advance for any advise.

#2-Ned some info on how to build a system for my house to make

#3-What do I need to do to my truck?

you are more then welcomed

on a serious note just read through some threads. There is too much information for you to read and the questions you are asking are very generic. Google biodiesel making. Its not hard to make it. Get on craigslist, there is a bunch of people in Orlando selling their systems after giving up but really its not that hard. If you can make lemonade then you can make biodiesel.

Some good points above, however, some very misleading. (sorry erbilabuc).
Anyone CAN make some "biodiesel". QUALITY biodiesel is another matter. You need to focus on quality. Your 6.0 wont tolerate soapy, methanol laiden, under reacted and/or wet biodiesel very long. Clean, quality B100 is critical to the longevity of you specific engine, and most importantly the injection system. Read, re-read, formulate, then act. Quality feedstock (dry) will greatly increase your ability to produce the quality fuel you truck will require.
Here is a hint: If you are looking at an inexpensive, plastic processor, expect it to produce fuel quality consistant with its price tag. However, an uneducated person lacking attention to detail can produce junk fuel in a $10,000 processor.....for what that is worth.

vegginpsd thanks for the reply....any site suggestions that you recomind to educate myself on this. Or anyone that has some extra time on there hand to explain over time how it works. Another thing is my dad and I are going into this half and half....which I knew my fuel had to be really good because of my engine but his is a 97' 7.3L and figured it would run better on the cleaner fuel, which that statment is correct?

I have been working on getting started making biodiesel too. I found journeytoforever.org has a lot of info and dudadiesel.com has a large supply of everything you might need to get started.

Utahbiodieselsupply.com has lots of resources and supply also.

Read all the stickys in this thread. It leans more to running straight wvo but there is a lot of relevant info for biodiesel, your truck, and wvo in general.
