I have seen a report that says BIO in the best way to add lubrication back into diesel. Here around Wichita BIO is sort of hard to find. Is there any merit to using new veggie oil to add lubrication to my diesel? Any Harm in doing this ? OK, I really just want to see the look on my wife’s face when I pour in a gallon of extra virgin olive oil into the old Super Duty ? What about corn, soy, canola or peanut oil ?? Does anyone have experience or data on this?
Small amounts probably wouldn't hurt anything but if your paying for VO to do this then I would think you would be better off just buying a diesel lubricant additive.
If you really want to see the look on your wifes face then convert your truck to run on 100% VO & stop paying through the nose for D2.
New, off the shelf, VO is more expensive than diesel or most lubricants. I would go with diesel clean or something like that.
