Black Diesel???
Has anyone ever heard of mixing used motor oil in your diesel? I seen this on another forum. I was wondering if you could put a quart or two of NEW in your fuel for added smoke b/c they stated the used they added really put out the smoke....?? I really wouldn't want to add used b/c of the metal slivers and other things in it. What do you guy's think, i know it would be an extra few dollars to do this but it wouldn't hurt anything would it...????

i think i read they mixed one quart to a full tank then skipped a tank then one quart to a full tank and so on. i guess you could play with it and see what work's for you. just don't go over board and mix some thing like 2 quart's to half a tank and i think you'll be okay. i would rally start out with a small ratio and work up a little bit. but i would never mix more than one or one and a half quart's no matter what. let us know how it work's.

no idea what the rating is. you might try a magnetic filter deal. i saw them in jeg's, summit, or jc whitney. |

Running oil thrue your'e fueling system is an easy way to destroy a fuel pump, the filter sytems in these newer trucks will not tolerate oil contamination for any extended period of time, the additives will eat up the seals inside the pump. You must remember oils have detergents in them for cleaning engine internals. Please ,don't do this unless you have lots money to throw away. At one time when low sulfer fuels were first introduced, adding a small amount of Auto trans fluid was said to help lube the injectors, and it did lube them up good enough to eat the seals out of the injectors and cause misfires. Save yourselves a lot of grief, don't do this. |

i have to disagree. guy's have been doing this for year's. semi's and pickup's. if something bad could come from it i don't think it would have been around this long.
