CNG help
So I've read a few things about CNG and I want to run CNG but I can't find any kits? CNG is about buck 50 a gallon and guys are saying they are getting about 30 mpg and 100 extra horses in their 7.3's. Sounds good to me. Help?

no way on the 30mpg. 100 hp is possible but the cost of equipment is not a viable option. It will take you about 200,000 miles of driving to make up for the cost of the system. Propane is another option but again the return on investment is a long wait.

i dont know of "kits" for PSD's. its such a commecrial thing, and gasser deal that i think no one has offered one yet. youll probably have to build your own.
fwiw, i hear in a light truck light load you can run up to 75% cng, 25% D2. if i understand correctly, the heavier the truck or high the boost the less cng youll want to run. again, this is my limited understanding. ove heard of people getting 30-50mpg in dmax's. but thats all forum speak, and i dont know the guys... |

I've often wondered if a light addition of CNG to the air intake might improve milage just a little and clean up the combustion enough to help with the sooting problem the EGR creates in the intake and EGR cooler. As stated by the poster, CNG is cheap compared to all the other fuels available. Not talking about a conversion, just a slight addition of CNG to the intake air.
