Old Red D. spin or trash

Picked up some red diesel today for free. The guy bought a aux bed tank that had some red in it.
Still smells strong of d2, had some sediment in bottom and i had to use a dirty wvo barrel to pick it up so i was going to spin it and mix with veg.

Is there a way tell is diesel is bad?

I dont know how to tell but I do know that diesel will start to grow bacteria after awhile. This is why they make biocide that you put in the tank to stop that stuff from growing.

I pulled about 4 cups of water out of the red diesel. 3 cups first pass at 140 deg and another cup the second pass at 180+ deg.
I cranked up the heat when I saw steam the first pass.

After talking to my dad (diesel mech for 22 years) I realized that before spinning the diesel it was cloudy. Didn't pay much attention to it at the time. He said that was suspended water in it. But after the second pass looked like water downed cherry Kool-aid.

Fueled my way to St. Louis and Hannibal Easter weekend. I was in downtown St Louis when the tornado hit the airport.
