Stright forward.

Well i am seriously thinking about running and making my own bio diesel. i would like to know the straight facts about what i will have to do to my truck. i run a 2002 F250. what will i have to change out to run it? i dont have 3000K or more to buy the vegistroke system, its just too dam much. i mean lets face it i wouldnt be thinking of makeing my own fuel if i had 3000K to drop at once for a set up. yesterday i went to auto zone and homedepo to pick up a small amount of stuff to try to make a cupple batches of the bio heres what i got.
First batch.

2nd batch

Bolth of them

HEET

im haveing a Hard time finding the powered lye here in So ca. so i went with this.

I learned two things when I was in your position.

-What the heck should I do with all the left over glycerine after a couple hundred gallon batch. They claim you can dump it outside, but I doubt that is legal, here it would most likely be considered a waste product of some kind and therefore need to go to a landfill until you could prove to the state that it is of beneficial use for something.

-Where can I get the raw ingredients in large enough bulk so my bio is not the same price as reg. dino diesel and where can I store 1,000 lbs. of lye comfortably/legally.

I opted to save my money and wait to run straight vegi for simpicity sake.

Oh by the way, I order a bunch of lye straight off the net, and they showed up at my door.

These are lagitimate concerns and one that also made me opt to use the vegistroke conversion. If you use as much fuel as i do, you will spend all your free time in the garage making bio-d to get to that quantity. I personally have little time to deal with it and the straight vegi deal was more appealing because of this.
Your conversion will pay for itself within 17k - 23k miles after you start using it depending on fuel prices and your gas milage. To me that was one year of use. Mine is paid for now after 20k miles.
Just be carefull and wash that bio well to remove the sodium hydroxid or you will do costly damage to the fuel system.

And don't dump glycerine on the ground or in your trash please!
