Looking into a 6.0 for conversion
looking into getting a large passenger van to haul my half dozen kids around in.
Found a good deal on a 2004 with a 6.0 diesel, but I'm not sure how this engine takes to WVO. Any one got the scoop on what yrs were the bad ones on the 6's?

Just ask a tech about working on an E series with a 6.0

03 & 04 were the worst years. Vans make working on the 6.0 even more of a problem.

what i take from a 6.0, if you get a great deal take it. it seems to be a good motor if you can put $2k to $4k depending on the year. it can be made to a relaible engine. things like egr cooler upgrade or delete, head studs, and a number of other things. diesel power mag had an article a while ago on makign the 6.0 reliable. my father in law is passivly looking at trucks and keeps askign about the 6.0 as a ton are for sale. i tell him if you find a killer deal go for it and we can do the upgrades. JMHO, ive never had a 6.0.

2004 DIESEL HIGH TOP VAN BLACK only
This is the one Momma wants, she loves the seating arrangement, and high top. It makes getting to the back so you can smack heads allot easier ![]() I'm all up for the E350, although swmbo gets her pick with this one, and shes not a fan of the "contractor look" The hike was a BLAST I went just under 500 miles which got me from Atlanta to Damascus VA. Took a month and 2 days. Theres a few pics on my shutterfly page. And I only got attacked by 1 mouse, and 1 bear. And guess what, the mouse did more damage.

Cool beans re: hike; links to pics, etc.??
Buy that sucker! And then immediately tear apart the motor and do the ARP studs, new gaskets (and machine the heads) and slap on an EGR delete. You're a diesel guy; shouldn't be too hard. Parts are probably $2500-ish, so get him to take that off the price. |

The hike pics are in the site on my signature, click the sig link, then it's down on your bottom right. Says Appalachian Trail
Yeah I e-mailed the guy about the 6.0 van, he doesn't sound too keen on dropping the price just yet. I'd like to get it for 8g's. I'll let him sit on it and see what happens later, I'm a patient guy. Not sure I want to tear right into something I just bought, but I do love mods. I'm gunna pray on this one and see how it works out. I'm partially keen on getting another 7.3, so I can keep all my parts between trucks the same. So...... |

I feel similar... I'm barely learning enough to get by with the 7.3 - learning the 6.0 is a bit beyond me at the moment. But hey, they'll all burn oil, so whatever!!
![]() I peeped the pics - very cool, but not enought of them! I have various fond and not-so-fond memories of the GA section of the trail - north of Camp Merrill (Ranger School). Nice crocs, by the way...
