As far as propane goes I would say no unless you are pulling a load VERY often. This is the only time that I could tell a difference that would offset the start up cost. If you are running as a daily driver with this truck I think 75-100k miles before any savings would start.
i wonder how natural gas would act if it were run like propane. it ha be had for about 96c per gallon equivalent a few hours south of me. last i checked anyway.
I believe that is 43 miles on a gallon of diesel while also burning several gallons of natural gas. I think you can go as high as 2:1 gas:diesel ratio. If you set it up to pull gas off your home line, or if it's cheap in your area (here in UT it is about .85/gallon equiv) then you can save some $$. Also, it burns more cleanly than diesel.
