JP-8 in my 6.0

What do you guys think about running JP-8 (Jet Fuel) in my 06. I ran it in my 7.3L and my Duramax no problem, I just added additive or ran half and half/ Will it hurt the EGR system? any ideas?

You should not have any problems running JP-8 in your truck. I am in the military and stationed in Alaska and that is all we use. JP-8 is almost the same as winter diesel it just has more additives to keep it from gelling.

as many problems as our trucks have just running #2..I personally wouldn't risk it..

what do you benefit from it?

does the benefit outweigh the possible damage to injectors and other fuel components.

I really don't think that there is any benefit from using it. I don't see how it would damage the injectors or anything at all. That is all we use here and have not had a problem.

I would mix it with bio-diesel for lubrication properties. Also bio burns at a lower BTU than petroleum.

I used to use JP-4 (yeah, long time ago i know) in my diesels back in the 80's never had a problem, would run about 1 quart to 10 gals, got really good mpg, about 10 mpg better than without. couldn't do it all them time, so it was just every once in a while. really cleans out the engine. JP-8 is even cleaner than JP-4 (or so I am told) so it should be better, so I wouldnt run it straight. becuz it seems the tree huggers got to the jet fuel first, (ie used to be JP-4 and I believe there is no more of that)
