Rates are down primarily because of low-balling brokers and dealers that don't want to pay a fair competitive price.

I try not to haul anything less than 40 cents a mile per vehicle. We try to only run in the Southeast, but maybe breaking out to other regions where the money is good.

I am also a broker, so I keep my rates up on the customers that we move cars for. I will not cut someone's throat just to make a buck. Those cars can sit and rot before I will move them or haul them.
